Agreement

By using honeysmithbees.com, joining The Hive, or buying from us (online or in person), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Who we are

Orders and payment

• Prices are in US dollars and may change without notice.
• Payments are processed by Square. When you check out, you also agree to Square's terms of service.
• We may cancel or refuse any order at our discretion — for example, if an item is out of stock, mispriced, or we suspect fraud. If we cancel a paid order, we will refund you in full.
• Sales tax is collected where required by Maryland law and any other applicable state.

Pickup orders

• Some items are pickup-only at our Crownsville location. You'll receive a notice when your order is ready to pick up.
• Please pick up within 14 days. After that we may restock the order and offer a store credit.

Subscriptions and auto-renewal

Some products are sold as subscriptions (for example, Body Velvet). By starting a subscription, you authorize us — through Square — to automatically charge your payment method on each renewal date until you cancel.

• Cadence and price shown at checkout apply to each renewal until you cancel or we notify you of a change.
• Renewal reminders — Square sends a notice ahead of each charge to the email on file.
• Cancel any time — call us at (410) 923-9800 or reply to a renewal email and we will cancel before the next renewal. Cancellation is effective immediately for all future renewals.
• Already-shipped renewals — once a renewal has been charged and shipped or prepared for pickup, that order is not refundable except as described in our Refund Policy.

The Hive (loyalty program)

• The Hive is free to join. Points have no cash value and are non-transferable.
• You earn five percent back on qualifying purchases, plus an extra five percent during your sign-up anniversary period.
• Points and rewards may be adjusted for returns, refunds, or fraud.
• We may change the rewards structure, expiration rules, or program mechanics, and will give reasonable notice for material changes.
• We can suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the program or violate these Terms.

SMS messaging

If you opt in during Hive signup, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages from us. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Returns and refunds

Returns, refunds, and replacements are governed by our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Live goods, food, and bees

• Plants, perennials, queens, and live bees depend on conditions outside our control once they leave us. Care and outcomes after pickup or delivery are your responsibility.
• Honey and other edible products are subject to the windows and inspection rules in the Refund Policy.
• Live bees and queens must be inspected at pickup; replacements and credits are handled at pickup, not after you leave.

Acceptable use

Don't try to break, scrape, overload, or misuse the site. Don't impersonate other people, submit false information, or interfere with anyone else's use of the site.

Intellectual property

The site, brand, photographs, illustrations, and written content are owned by Honeysmith Bees & Gardens or used with permission. Don't reuse them commercially without our written consent.

Disclaimers

The site and products are provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We make no warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement beyond what applicable law requires.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the site, a product, or The Hive is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Honeysmith Bees & Gardens and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims arising out of your misuse of the site or violation of these Terms.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
