The haunted trail.
Santa in December.
Kids painting pots for mom.

And that's just the start of it.

What starts as a working garden center becomes something more throughout the year — seasonal traditions, community gatherings, and the kind of memories people return for year after year.

OCTOBER

Honeysmith Haunt

Each fall, the team transforms the grounds of the garden center into a free haunted walk for the community. The store stays open a little later, the sun goes down, and the atmosphere begins to get…spooky.

DECEMBER

Santa at Honeysmith

Between the Christmas trees, fresh wreaths, and rows of poinsettias, Santa becomes part of the atmosphere each holiday season — and he seems to enjoy the freshly roasted nuts just as much as everyone else.

FALL

Pumpkins & Mums

Heirloom pumpkins, warty gourds, the blue-green varieties people can never quite identify, and rows of mums lining the honeycomb-shaped benches. Around here, the weird pumpkins usually go first.

The smaller weekends

The rest of the year, in smaller doses.

Mother's Day weekend

Paint a pot. Plant a petunia. Hand it to mom with dirt still on your fingers. Free, and easily one of the sweetest traditions of the season.

Easter Egg Hunt

Easter eggs tucked throughout the property, candy for the kids, discounts hidden for the parents, and plenty of excitement during the colorful Easter season. Starting 2027.

Free raffle & giveaway days

Not every weekend is announced far in advance. Sometimes we have raffles, giveaways, free plants, gift cards, or unexpected surprises that we don't even plan until the morning of.

Plant swap gatherings

Bring your plants or cuttings, take a few new ones home with you. Snowcones for the kids while the grown-ups swap philodendrons, plant tips, and stories around the tables.

Parking lot pop-ups

Coffee brewing, cinnamon buns still warm, hot cocoa when the weather calls for it, and a few unexpected giveaways along the way — the kind of parking lot pop-up people linger at longer than planned.

…and more.
